I started in the workshop, fitting balance wheels into movements by hand. No theory, just material and gesture. That grounding never left me. In the mid 1990s I joined Mauboussin to build its watchmaking division alongside Richard Mille, working with manufactures like Renaud & Papi. I later moved to Tiffany & Co., then to the Swatch Group, where I helped launch the Tourbillon boutique concept across Europe.
In the early 2000s, Osvaldo Patrizzi brought me into Antiquorum, then the world's leading vintage watch auction house. For years I served as an auctioneer in Switzerland, the United States, and Hong Kong.
I learned the market's cycles firsthand: enthusiasm, correction, consolidation. I went on to advise Elite Advisors on their fund's watch division alongside Alfredo Paramico, then spent three and a half years at Richemont developing retail experiences for Jaeger LeCoultre internationally. Eventually, independence won out.
Today I advise collectors on acquiring and reselling exceptional timepieces, combining technical expertise, market judgment, and an eye for what matters.
A watch is never just a mechanism. Guilloché work, hand applied bevels, finishing invisible to the untrained eye. Sometimes it borders on art. To me, the dial is the true heart of a watch. It governs desirability and often value. A shift in tone, a different typeface, a natural patina can transform a piece entirely. I've worked in both new and vintage watchmaking, but vintage holds me.
It carries a story: an era, a context, an intention. In a world chasing constant novelty, that memory has its own pull.
